Q: Whenever I try to submit a bid, I keep getting outbid right away by an automatic bid. What is an automatic bid and how can I set one up?
A: The R5 Closet website works almost identically to eBay. Automatic bids are done when a user submits a maximum bid amount they are willing to pay for an item. If that bid amount is the current high amount, then it will stand as the max bid amount. The current bid amount displayed on the product page for everyone to see will not show the max bid amount from that user, but it will show an incremented amount to show that you placed a bid. For example, if the current bid on an item is $24.50 and the bid increment is $0.50, and you submit a max bid amount of $50, the current bid will show as $25.00, adding the $0.50 increment to the current bid to show and confirm your max bid amount. When another user tries to submit a bid, they will automatically get outbid by your max bid amount. Once the current bid reaches or exceeds your max bid amount, you will have to either increase your max bid or leave it and risk being outbid and lose your chance of winning the item.

To set up an automatic bid, simply go to the item you wish to set this up on, and in the bid box, enter the highest amount you are willing to pay for the item, then click bid. Your highest bid amount will be saved and now whenever another user tries to bid on that item, they will automatically get outbid by you until the current bid price reaches or surpasses your submitted maximum bid amount. From there you will have to either resubmit a new high bid amount or not. Please note that this will only work if another user has not already submitted a maximum bid amount that is higher than what you submit.

Q: Something came up/I made a mistake. Is it possible to take back/retract a bid?
A: Unfortunately, there is no way a bid can be retracted while an auction is still live. You will have to either wait until the auction ends if you are the highest bidder, or get outbid by another user. Even after an auction ends, there are no guarantees that a bid can or will be retracted if you are the highest bidder. BID AT YOUR OWN RISK. By using this website and bidding, you are committing to purchasing that item at the end of the auction should you be the highest bidder at that time plus shipping. Please contact us with any questions.

Q: An auction just ended and it looks like I made the highest bid, but I never received an email. What happened?
A: To ensure that you actually won the item, please be sure to check your email inbox to see if you received the ‘Congratulations!’ email, or log in to your account and the auction you won should show up under ‘Won Auctions.’ If you are unsure, go back to the item page, click on Bid History, and click on ‘Show/hide automatic bids.’ If you did not receive an email or the auction is not showing up on your account, then an automatic bid was probably submitted right before the auction ended.

If you’ve done all that, and you’ve verified you are actually a winner and you still have not received a congratulations email or the item does not show up in your account, please contact us. Don’t worry, you won and it won’t be going to anyone else! We just need to do things a little differently.

The R5 Closet site is almost identical to eBay, but handles bids a little differently. Users can bid a “maximum bid” amount ahead of time. This max bid amount won’t reflect on the highest bid amount, but whenever others try to bid, they will automatically become outbid by the user who had already set their max bid amount until it reaches or surpasses that amount. At the end of an auction, if there is a max bid amount that is the same as the final manual bid amount, the user who had set the max bid amount ahead of time wins, since they had bid the amount first ahead of time.

Q: I won an auction, how can I pay for it?
A: Congratulations! To pay for an item you won, please follow the instructions on how to pay within the Congratulations email sent to you.

Q: How long do I have to pay for the auction I won?
A: Payment for won auctions are required no later than 48 hours after the auction ends. You are responsible for the items you win. If payment is not received within the 48 hour grace period, you are subject to forfeiture of the auction at our discretion. If you require additional time, please contact us as soon as possible and we can arrange something for you.

Q: I won multiple items, can I pay for them together so they get shipped together?
A: Unfortunately, at this time with our new auctioning system, there is no way to pay for multiple won auctions at the same time. You will have to pay for them individually. We are working on a getting something in place to where you can pay for multiple won auctions together within this new system.

However, you can contact us after paying for you auctions and let us know you’ve won multiple auctions and would like to ship them together. We will arrange to ship your items in one package and refund you the cost of shipping for the other orders. It is imperative you do this as soon as you finish paying for all your won auctions so that we can group your items together before they are sent out for shipment! To help expedite this, please be sure to include all the order numbers in your message.

Q: I paid for my item(s) but my order has been “Processing” for a really long time. What happened?
A: While we do our best to get items shipped out as soon as possible after receiving payment, we can get very busy! Rest assured, you have not lost your item. As long as you received payment confirmation from us and from PayPal, the item(s) are yours. We will do our best to get it shipped out as soon as we possibly can. We thank you in advanced for your patience and understanding.

Q: My order has been marked as completed and/or I received tracking information, but it hasn’t updated since then. What happened?
A: When we prep your item(s) for shipping, we create the shipping label for it which automatically generates a tracking number and sends it to you via email. This does NOT necessarily mean that your item has been shipped. We will work on getting your item shipped not long after tracking information has been sent, or your order is marked as completed on the R5 Closet website. Please check tracking information frequently for updates. We thank you in advanced for your patience and understanding.

Please note that if you made any special requests for your order it may prolong shipping as we work to catch the band on their free time to fulfill your requests.
